Clay and Sticks is a collaborative exhibition bringing together the ceramic works of Helen McCormick, Charline Marzin with the woven willow sculpture of Vik Westaway. Inspired by the natural world, geology and coastline of the South West, the exhibition explores erosion, tidal movement, natural growth, and transformation through clay, willow, sand, ash, and reclaimed materials. Collaborative works combine hand-thrown and hand-built ceramics with intricately woven Somerset willow, while individual pieces reflect each artist’s unique response to landscape, process, and place. Using coastal sands, wood ash glazes, recycled copper, and traditional craft techniques, the exhibition creates a rich dialogue between land and sea, fragility and strength, permanence and change.
